Reset, restart and realign this October!

The summer fun is over, kids are back to school, and we are seeing the light at the end of this pandemic tunnel. So now is the time to put your health first.

If I had a euro for every time someone has come to me saying that three-four weeks is their usual limit when it comes to sticking to a strict programme or routine, I’d be a very rich man indeed (in fact, I might be writing this in the south of France!).

That is because they went from 0 -100 on training, food and lifestyle changes, which is simply too much all at once for anyone to follow.

Right now, I am going to give you a four-step process to get you started/restarted on developing an active and healthier lifestyle this October.

Step 1: Set yourself up right for the day - starting first thing in the morning

Every morning take 20 minutes for yourself. Be it a walk, workout, morning coffee, meditation, or a mindfulness podcast etc. Starting your morning on a positive note will give you the right mindset to tackle the rest of your day.

Step 2: Move

Make this a non-negotiable every day. Set a time and go for a walk. It doesn’t matter how far or long, just get up and move. For example, getting up from your desk for five minutes every hour will do wonders for your motivation and productivity.

Step 3: Sleep

We all sleep, yes, but are you sleeping well? This October nail down a set bedtime and set rise time and watch how your energy will skyrocket!

Step 4: Focus on your breakfast

The biggest downfall for so many people is their breakfast. Poor breakfast choices ripple into nutrition adherence during the day. Late night picker? Nail down your breakfast with a solid protein source in it and that craving will fade out. Eggs are a great starting point here. Implement these four steps this month and you will get yourself restarted into a healthier lifestyle that you have been putting off ‘till now!
