Twill scarf from Fiadh.

I'm determined to be super organised this time...

I merely mention it to see what type of a Christmas person you might be. I personally fall into the camp of buying one present at the start of November, feeling like I’ve achieved a lot only to find I haven’t a single other thing bought come Christmas week and I’m around the place in a panic!

Well, I have vowed to not let that happen this year and I am determined to be super organised so that I can kick back and do nothing but drink mulled wine come December.

I’ve seen some great Irish brands recently that I think would make beautiful gifts and one of them is Irish textile label Fiadh.

Ethical Irish textile brand, Fiadh, has launched a new collection called Taobh Cnoic (meaning Hillside) which is inspired by pops of vibrant colour in the plants and rocks from the hills of the Dingle peninsula.

Fiadh, (pronounced fia) meaning deer in Irish, is the founder and namesake of the brand, a textile designer and hand-weaver who is passionate about the marriage of inspired design and skilled craftsmanship.

Using only the highest quality yarn sourced from spinners in Ireland, the UK and Italy, Fiadh and her skilled team make these lovely woven products from scratch. Attention to detail is key and they are always working on improving the designs, with a unique take on traditional weave structures, to make the softest most beautiful pieces that will see you through not just seasons but years of wear.

Fiadh’s ethos is all about creating something beautiful that is made to last, combining a love of fashion with a respect for nature, in relation to both the inspiration and the raw materials it provides.

Fiadh designs respect the old and embrace the new: “We need to make weaving a thing of the future rather than the past. I believe that this is achievable by respecting and learning the craft from the masters and using design and creativity to make something new and exciting.”

There’s also something for the jewellery lover in your life as Irish jewellery makers Juvi and Clodagh McKenna have teamed up to create this special collection representing the changing seasons and the bounty that nature provides throughout the year. With a constant drive and passion for the earth and Clodagh’s love of homegrown goodness at her home in Broadspear was the perfect blossoming friendship to create this stunning collection.

Clodagh For Juvi will feature four seasons of charms, each representing the fruit and vegetables that grow in abundance throughout each passing season.

The first four charms in the collection reflect the beauty of autumn with a wild blackberry, a sweetcorn lovingly wrapped in its husk, a plump pumpkin and of course, Clodagh’s quintessential trademark, a happy hen.

New charms will be added to the collection in winter, spring and summer. It’s a perfect gift idea for everyone who feels an affinity to nature, finds beauty in the wild and is making small changes to cast a gentler footprint on the earth.

Intricately handcrafted with delicate detailing, each charm in this collection is available in 925 sterling silver and 18ct gold vermeil, allowing you to mix and match charms to suit the seasons and your style. The collection is also super affordable with charms retailing at €64 for sterling silver and €69 for 18ctgold Vevrmeil. Chains are old separately.

Each piece is lovingly gift wrapped in luxurious, fully recyclable Juvi packaging, nestled beautifully in Clodagh McKenna’s signature paper.
