Here are some fabulous gift ideas this festive season

Do you set out to buy gifts for other people but then just find loads of lovely things for yourself instead?

I mean really that’s just the story of my life. I’m actually quite a hard person to buy a gift for as I’m very particular about what I like and I’m one of those annoying people who loves getting a voucher but then, I also want a surprise gift.

So, if you have someone like me to buy for (an incredibly stylish young woman, ahem!) then here are a few things I can recommend to ensure plenty brownie points when they open their pressies.

Firstly, a piece of art or an illustration is always a fabulous gift. I know this can be a very personal choice but have a look around the person’s house and see what other pieces they might have and take inspiration from that.

I love the Colour Pop Brunette for quirky prints that would brighten up any home or home office space. Kiera creates bright and colourful prints with cheeky little messages and is inspired by colour, texture and pattern.

Her pieces are available to buy online at thecolourpopbrunette.com and would make a fab stocking filler.

A little piece of jewellery is also up there with one of my favourite presents to receive. Again, this can be very much up to personal taste but check out lunarayjewellery.com with a selection that really has something for everyone.

Luna Ray Jewellery was launched during lockdown in 2021, creating unique, stylish and sustainable jewellery.

Inspired by nature and interiors, each piece is carefully slow-made by hand by Irish designer, Lorna Rumley. Her earrings celebrate boho chic with a nod to sustainable fashion, a dazzling fun accessor with a serious ethical ethos.

Made with polymer clay, stainless steel, brass and sterling silver components, Lorna has the environment and visuals the heart of her designs.

Some earrings are delicately painted with gold leaf, acrylics or finished with a gloss for that extra sparkle.

No two pieces are exactly the same, so you are sure to find something truly unique.

Dedicated to zero waste and sustainable fashion, all materials are used up and reimagined in the creation process. The one-of-a-kind collection is dedicated to unique and reimagined pieces from leftover clay.

The pieces are gift wrapped with eco packaging and each customer receives a handwritten note for that personal touch, thus making them the perfect gift to yourself or someone special this holiday season.

Lastly, something for the home is always appreciated especially when it’s practical but certainly not boring and you need look no further than Blonde The Store for the coolest homewares around. Even with life going back to ‘normal’, our love of fun homewares is here to stay and with Christmas dinner parties and gifting on the horizon, Irish retailer BLONDEthestore.com, an online fashion accessories and homeware shop, has you covered with colourful, quirky tableware to brighten up your gaff this dark December!

If grey is your colour palette then look away! With brands like &klevering Amsterdam and Bornn Enamelware, this fab online store is all about maximalism.

Think cowboy boot salt and pepper shakers, a bold lemon jug and paint splashed coffee and tea pots. BLONDEthestore.com also stocks a selection of stunning candles.

The site is carefully curated with unique home and fashion brands from around the world, as well as fun generic pieces you won't find on the high street.

With so many amazing Irish retailers and creators out there, we really have no excuse for boring gifts!
