Aoife Lohse, Sales & Marketing Manager at Oriel House Hotel.

Appointment of the week

Name: Aoife Lohse

Position: Sales & Marketing Manager

Aoife Lohse has been appointed as the new Sales & Marketing Manager at Oriel House Hotel, part of the Irish owned Talbot Collection. This is a historic Georgian manor house, a charming, listed building that dates back to 1805. The now 100-bedroom property has been undergoing extensive refurbishments over the past few years, with an additional 26 guest rooms now being transformed.

Aoife has always been in the hospitality sector. She did a 2-year diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Studies, which gave me an insight into all departments of a hotel. She then did an honours degree in Business and Hospitality management. She worked in establishments such as the River Lee Hotel, Fota Island Resort and the reopening of The Kingsley.

She then did an MA in Public Relations, Marketing and New Media, completing to two year course in one year while working full time for the Fota Collection; Fota Island Resort and The Kingsley.

Since then she has worked in a variety of roles at The Address Cork (formally The Ambassador), Hayfield Manor and Kinsale Hotel & Spa, where she had worked for a year by the time the pandemic hit.

“The past two years have taught me invaluable tactics and reactive skills in crisis sales management and overall pivoting sales strategy,” she explained.

“I am delighted to join the team as the country’s restrictions are lifting and this amazing property has an outstanding amount of functions flooding back to the hotel after two years of limited capacities.

“No ordinary venue, the Oriel House Hotel exudes a fairy-tale feel, thanks to its unique blend of classic elegance and modern style.

“What a time to be starting a new role with this incredible property and team! I cant wait to see what this year has in store,” she said.
