Vintage inspired

“Fashion has always been a huge part of my life, and I just love the idea and excitement of creating something from nothing.”

Those were the words of Monica Walsh as she spoke after the launch of the Postcards Home collection.

It’s a collection boasting blouses and bucket hats, floaty dresses and tailored pants all handmade and ethically produced in Ireland.

Founder of Cobbler’s Lane Monica Walsh said her inspiration for Postcards Home came from her time spent living in Australia and the collection celebrates femininity, adventure, inclusivity, individuality and female empowerment.

Cobbler’s Lane has also adopted a zero waste policy, and so their new in bucket hats are cleverly and thoughtfully designed using left-over fabric from their core ranges.

The collection is vintage inspired with 1960s and ‘70s influences including bohemian prints, subtle ruffle and pleat detailing.

Monica added: “I grew up in a very creative house. My mother is a phenomenal designer, so from a young age I was exposed to her creating wonderful clothes which I would wear whenever I could. Quality and timelessness are absolutely paramount to what I design.

“Some people may shy away from prints thinking they won’t be easy to re-wear but we have seen our blouses styled in so many beautiful ways that no two people look the same wearing them - our designs really let the wearers individuality shine.”
