A small sample of Cork’s art

A Cork city studio will present its annual exhibition of its artists’ work in Fitzgerald’s Park from tomorrow, Friday.

Sample-Studios’ Summer Members Exhibition will be found in The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion from tomorrow until 3 September. The exhibition will showcase new work by 30 local artists, and visitors are invited to come and explore the diversity of the Churchfield-based studio’s members’ artistic practices. Works on display will include painting, print, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, film, and textiles. Work is available to purchase, offering visitors the opportunity to support a local artist.

Speaking ahead of the exhibition, Acting Artistic Director of Sample-Studios, Emer Yip, said she was delighted to begin her tenure with such an incredible exhibition.

“The quality and variation of the work on display is indicative of the broad range of artistic talent which Sample-Studios supports and the exhibition as a whole demonstrates how collective arts spaces facilitate the cross-pollination of ideas and influences between arts practitioners working in different media. I encourage all visitors to Fitzgerald’s Park to stop by the Pavilion and take a moment to enjoy the work of these talented Cork-based artists,” she said.

Sample-Studios Summer Members Exhibition runs from 5 August-3 September from Tuesday-Saturday from 11am-5pm. Sample-Studios is supported by The Arts Council of Ireland and Cork City Council.
