Ben O’Connor to be next U20 hurling manager

Cork GAA is set to appoint Ben O’Connor as the new U20 hurling manager for the next 2 seasons.

The 3 time All Ireland winner will be recommended for ratification at next week's County Committee meeting for September.

His selectors will include Ger O'Regan and Ronan Curran (St Finbarr's), Terence McCarthy (Midleton) and Anthony Nash (Kanturk).

As coach, O’Connor has won the Premier Senior County title with Midleton and a Premier Intermediate title with Charleville.

Cork GAA Chairman Marc Sheehan said: “We are delighted that Ben has come on board to oversee such an important age group. No doubt, the development of our players is in safe hands.”

The Newtownshandrum native also won 4 county titles and an All Ireland Senior Club title with his club as a player.
