Party season is on the way

The minute I open my calendar and see October is next week, I think of party season, mainly because the jazz weekend is one of the biggest ones in Cork and it is the lead into Christmas.

So, when I think of the party season, the first thing I think of is the desk to dancefloor scenario or daytime brunch that could potentially end up being an early cocktail session. I like to have my bases covered so I will show you some of the party essentials.

Lashes

I am known to partake in some serious lash wearing, but when I wear mascara, I like it to be buildable! Note Cosmétique’s New Full Bloom Mascara (€11.95) is lightweight with a natural formula and it enhances volume, extends lashes, creates curls, and stays put through all day.

Plus, you’ll avoid the dreadful clumping and smudging from all types of moisture-induced scenarios, like limbo dancing through brunch! A combination of carnauba, sunflower, rice bran, wild chamomile, rose flower and myrica fruit waxes captures all lashes to impart instant lash thickness leaving lashes full, yet flexible.

KISS is always elevating the lash game and things are no different this time with their latest launch, the Masterpiece Lash. Innovative long tapered technology gives each lash fibre a seamless taper that looks more natural than any other lash. Unique woven and tweed lash style makes the lashes extraordinarily curly, voluminous and durable - available in 4 styles - Haute Couture, Cruise, Avant-Garde and Pret-A-Porter. They are €11.75 and reusable. Pass me all 4 styles please!

Cheeks

I am so happy that blush is back! I am not perhaps so onboard with the sunburned-esque look but I do think that it is absolutely the ultimate glam to add a sweep or dab (depending on texture) to the cheeks. The harsh contour look is over and youthful flushing is how we are planning to party this year.

Keeping the luminosity of their liquid products in tow, Kash Beauty has created beautiful silk-like velvety powders, with high voltage hue dialling up the drama and delivering a veil of enviable immaculateness across the face. The multi-dimensional light-reflecting particles in these powder blushers emulate that ethereal glow from within with movement and vitality, whilst the bronzers deliver warmth and definition to the face, melting into the skin and marrying the entire look together for perfectly chiselled cheekbones.

The soft-focussed radiant powders glide effortlessly across the skin whilst delivering a silky-smooth, luminous flush of colour, with the feather-like formula enriched with Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate the skin and create a full, plump look, lifting and sculpting your cheeks. The KASH Beauty Blush Sculpt Power (RRP €19.95) is available in 3 dazzling shades - Sun Dance, a shimmering, golden peach tone; Cupid’s Kiss, a vibrant pop of pink and Hot Flush, a rich, red shade.

LA Girl Soft Matte Cream Blush: the creamy, gel-like texture and melt-into-skin formula blends down to a soft matte finish, adding a kiss of colour to the cheeks, as well as being the perfect way to perk up some soft pink lips.

A buildable, long-lasting pigment, the LA Girl Soft Matte Cream Blush can be worn for a slight hint of tint, or layered up for a long-lasting bold statement. Using the built-in nozzle applicator, place just the right amount of product across the tops of the cheekbones and apples of the cheeks. Remember, less is more when using a buildable product. Dab the pigment into the skin using your fingers or a damp blending sponge for a natural, fresh straight-from-the-beach vibe that can be dressed up or stripped down. The LA Girl Matte Cream Blush (RRP €10.95) is available on trndbty.com and Dunnes Stores nationwide.
