Flower power

Last Sunday was the perfect end to the week as I styled a shoot and hosted a workshop for the Flowersmith Studio.

The shoot was so ethereal and we combined beautiful dresses from Phoenix V with Kelly from the Flowersmith Studios newest creations, fresh floral wearables. They are so beautiful and a really gorgeous and new way of working with flowers.

It’s a wearable bouquet that will enhance your occasion wear and elevate your look. The shoot was a dream to work on with Emma from Barre By Emma being the perfect elegant model, Alison from The Blow Dry Bar by Alison creating the perfect complimentary hairstyle and Gill from Gillybeangirl shooting the looks with her fabulous creative flair.

I caught up with Kelly and she explained: “Our new line of fresh floral wearables brings together two of my favourite things, fashion and flowers! My approach to floral design has always been artistic in nature, with a real focus on colour, shape and texture and flowers provide the most amazing medium to work with.”

Gorgeous flowers are meant to be admired and adorning yourself with a luxurious fresh floral tattoo designed especially for you will create not only an incredible fashion statement, but also a joyful experience.

They are like a beautifully uplifting little bouquet for your body. If you are worried about them being heavy or falling off then fear not, as I have worn one myself and they are lightweight, comfortable and secure. They are the perfect statement accessory for brides, bridesmaids, debs, a day at races, or any special event or occasion you would like to look and feel beautiful at.

If I was getting married again (maybe a 10 year renewal of vows?!) I would definitely have these wearable body bouquets for my bridesmaids as something a little bit different to the traditional hand held bouquet.

After the shoot, we welcomed the workshop people which was a fabulous mix of Cork creatives and we had a beautiful evening being shown by Kelly the process of how to make these pieces yourself.

It was so relaxing and who doesn’t want to spend a Sunday surrounded by flowers, great company and eating cake? As Kelly said: “The process of creating such inspired, detailed pieces requires a slower and more considered approach, allowing for the beauty of Mother Nature’s own creations to be fully admired and leaving us feeling a bit in awe. “Whether it’s fresh floral tattoos, fascinators, hair combs, floral crowns, headbands, or modern corsages; a workshop with us is a creative experience to be remembered.”

I definitely feel a workshop would make a great gift for someone or a perfect way to unwind and pick up a new skill. Kelly really explained everything so well and there was a great sense of achievement coming away with something that you had made yourself.
