3 appear in court after significant drug seizure

A woman and 2 men have appeared before Bantry District Court this morning in relation to a drugs seizure to the value of €645,000.

Gardaí previously seized the cannabis and cannabis related products following searches in county Cork and county Dublin.

The searches were carried out between 2018 and 2020 at a number of business and residential premises by gardaí attached to Bantry Garda Station, Cork West Divisional Drugs Unit, and Store Street Garda Station.

They were assisted by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and the Department of Health.

During the course of the searches, gardaí seized €645,000 worth of cannabis and cannabis related products. All drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

The arrested men (30s) and woman (50s) were detained at garda stations in West Cork and Cork city and all 3 were subsequently charged.
