Instead of one big bash I had multiple mini celebrations

I am truly all partied out this week as I celebrated my 40th birthday on Saturday but the celebrations have been on going with about a month.

Instead of one big bash I have decided to mark the occasion with multiple mini celebrations which has turned birthday month into a birthday season and I’m not complaining about that at all.

It’s the way forward in my opinion for birthday festivities! I started Saturday off with a swim and sauna at Garrettstown beach at the Wilder sauna. Nothing sets you up better for the day and it was the perfect beginning to my 40th year.

We may have had a little prosecco toast before we left the beach also and I’m pretty sure I’m now 50% bubbles after the weekend. Then it was off to Blackrock Castle for brunch and I ended the evening with dinner and a staycay in The River Lee Hotel. All absolute bliss and it was all so relaxing and luxurious but with so many activities and outfit changes what does one wear?

I wanted a relaxed but glam outfit for brunch, nothing too over the top but still interesting and fun. I had been looking at cargo pants with ages but didn’t want anything too oversized and I found the perfect sage green jogger style pair with a matching military style shirt both in brushed cotton.

I love that almost silky feel to brushed cotton and it slightly elevates the item to make it a bit more dressy. I paired the look with gold, low block heels. I have been searching for a pair of these heels that you can wear for every day as I wore out a pair I bought in H&M years ago and I found the perfect replacement recently in Penneys.

So comfortable and they will go with everything. To bring a bit of drama to the look, I wore a pair of statement earrings from Zara and topped it off with my trenchcoat.

I’m also trying to embrace spring and wear lighter layers so this was my first foray into spring dressing. It went well enough but I also didn’t have to spend too much time outdoors as I don’t think the sandal clad feet would have been my best decision.

Then it was onto dinner and on with the next outfit. I wanted a little bit more colour with this look and couldn’t see anything I liked for ages.

I was going to wear something I already had in my wardrobe but on my recent trip to Gdansk, I came across the perfect co-ord and you know I cannot resist a matching set. They are so easy to wear and the soft plisse fabric was so comfortable.

It almost feels like you’re wearing pyjamas in a very chic 1970s style. It’s my favourite sort of look and you can really use accessories to make it as casually or as glam as you like. Of course, for this occasion the glamour had to be at 100% so I wore a gold chin belt to bring in the waist a little bit.

Chartreuse coloured diamante drop earrings and green metallic platform heels completed it.

I can’t wait to wear the pieces as separates and the trousers will look great worn with a trainer, band tee and blazer while I will style the shirt with jeans and a heel for another night out, which incidentally is this weekend as I have birthday gathering number…I forget at this stage!
