Man hospitalised in city assault

Gardaí attended the scene on Innishmore Drive, Ballincollig, at around 7.45pm on Monday evening.

A man in his 30s was brought to CUH with non-life threatening injuries. Following a search of the area, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were arrested in connection with the assault and brought to a Cork city garda station where they were detained.

The man and woman were later released without charge and a file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the assault to come forward.

Any road users and pedestrians who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and were in the area of Innishmore Drive between 7.30pm and 8pm on Monday evening are asked to make their footage available to gardaí.
