The Cork International Hotel has brought back its hugely popular Sunday Lunch menu.

Dads delicious

Leeside dads were spoiled rotten this Father’s Day with the relaunch of a deliciously popular menu to one of the city’s top hotels.

Last Sunday, the Cork International Hotel brought back its popular Sunday lunch menu to the delight of many hungry Corkonians.

Diners can now once again enjoy a meal made from locally sourced produce in the hotel’s New Yorker Bar and Restaurant. The a la carte menu offers a variety of dishes as well as roast of day specials. The famous Sunday lunch will be served from 12.30pm to 3pm.

Speaking at the relaunch, General Manager of the Cork International Hotel, Eoghan Murphy, said, “We’re delighted to relaunch our popular Sunday lunch menu on Father’s Day. It will change with the seasons and is the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion like a family birthday or anniversary. This Sunday is all about the dads and father figures and there is something for all tastes from our Empire State Double Beef Burger - the dad of all burgers - to our carving station.”

Some examples of what diners can expect for starters include homemade soup of the day, pan fried Atlantic prawn pil pil, West Cork steamed mussels, and New York inspired chicken wings.

For mains, diners can indulge in summer poke bowl, chef Mihira’s authentic elavalu maas vegetable curry, the Empire State double beef burger, and fresh crab and chilli linguine.

Options from the carving station include slow roasted shoulder of East Cork lamb with a minted sauce, prime roast of West Cork Hereford rib of beef with a rich red wine jus, fennel and rosemary pork porchetta with crackling with a chimichurri dressing, and lemon and thyme marinated sea trout with a kale and watercress pesto.

Desserts include NYC inspired baked vanilla cheesecake, dark chocolate brownie, lemon, ginger and chilli posset, and classic summer Eton mess.

The Cork International Hotel Sunday Lunch is €26 per person for 2 courses or €34 per person for 3 courses. A full kids’ menu is also available. To make a reservation, call 021-4549800.
