Rubrik secures new Leeside digs

An international data security company has opened a new, larger office in Cork in order to accommodate future growth.

US-based Rubrik will be moving to the new site on the Link Road, Carrigrohane, Ballincollig, from its current office in the IDA Ireland Science and Technology Park.

The company said the move is part of its continued investment in the region and its desire to continue to foster future talent through intern and graduate programs at UCC and MTU, the latter having been the target of a cyber attack in February.

Headquartered in California, Rubrik opened in Cork in 2017. In 2018, the company announced plans for 50 new jobs on Leeside and has since nearly doubled that target, creating new positions across engineering, customer support, and sales.

Chief Customer Officer at Rubrik, Giri Iyer, said the depth of talent the company is able to access in in Cork and across Ireland has driven significant local growth. “The expansion of our customer services hub and other critical functions means we can help even more enterprises in Europe, Middle the East, and Africa (EMEA) tackle the ongoing threat of ransomware.”

Michael Lohan, CEO of Industrial Development Agency (IDA) Ireland, said: “It’s great to see a leading global company like Rubrik investing in Ireland, adding to the established cluster of expertise in data and cyber security. I wish them every success as they continue to grow their footprint here in Ireland.”

Rubrik works with organisations throughout EMEA, helping them to achieve business resilience against cyberattacks, malicious insiders, and operational disruptions.
