It’s time for new season style
As we transition from summer to autumn, it's time to start looking to the season ahead.
Now I know we don’t want to mention the autumn or even think about putting back on the layers when we are still trying to get into a summer vibe but The new AW collection from Irish womenswear brand Noema is just too good not to get excited about. This always happens to me around now when I see all the new collections and I have to immediately start planning my new season style. This season I want to buy less but buy well and I need only a few additions to my AW wardrobe.
Noema, the founder and Creative Director of her namesake brand began her career as an aerospace engineer and as she herself says, “Academia isn’t the usual route to launching a lifestyle brand, but as somebody once told me, every engineer has an artist and an entrepreneur hidden deep inside. And so, I took that literally.
"Leaving the fast-paced world of engineering and studies behind to return to my roots, for a reset, a slower pace, back to a way of life I knew and loved growing up in Mallorca where the living is easy.”
These days, living in Ireland has helped her to unearth and inspire her creativity and craft, but like many of us as she sees a post-pandemic frenetic pace creeping back into our lives, she wants to put the spotlight on what really matters – the return of simplicity in how you dress and live.
A Noema collection is always full of classic staples with a twist and these are pieces you will have in your wardrobe for years to come. This AW collection is full of some absolute hero pieces such as the Kate dress and Palma maxi coat. Mallorca’s architecture inspires the Golden Mile collection and is the brand's muse mixing the influence of landscape and architecture through the collection and using colours, geometry and balance to create form.
The Kate dress made from 100% Irish wool is elegant and comfortable and would make the perfect workwear dress with its houndstooth print. The Palma Maxi coat in tweed is an investment but you will have this coat as a forever piece. Again, its classic shape means it never dates and is the height of subtle luxury. The double breast design is crafted in Ireland and flares at the hip for a flattering shape.
