Get cultured at the Crawford College

This year, for Culture Night on Friday 22 September, MTU Crawford College of Art & Design (CCAD) hosts activities by MTU alumni, students, staff, and invited artists at their iconic 19th century building, and a part of MTU CCAD campus, at 46 Grand Parade.

It is open for exhibition viewing, studio visits and a chance to meet the artists from 5-7pm.

The MTU Gallery at 46 Grand Parade hosts a selection of the acquisitions of the MTU Arts Collection, works acquired from students of MTU Crawford College of Art & Design graduates from the past 3 decades.

Creativity & Change, in collaboration with Financial Justice Ireland, present an interactive exhibition highlighting the effects of unequal financial systems like tax, trade and debt, featuring the creative responses of artists Neltah Chadamoyo, Kate O'Shea and Elisa Babkina. Isteach Cork will host a 'box-head' making workshop, inviting young and old to explore housing inequality through creating house-shaped masks, inspired by Cork's now-iconic mural by street artist Asbestos. Other activities will take place including a screening of ‘Homofónia’, a film by Alana Daly Mulligan and Luke Murphy. The film screening will accompany an artist talk and discussion about the rights of the LGBTQAI+ community around the world.
