Cork city set to get loud for mental health and suicide awareness.

Preparations are well underway for this year’s #MakeSomeNoiseCork happening on Saturday 30 September at the Dance Cork Firkin Crane from 7.45pm.

Make Some Noise Cork is held in support of Shine a Light Suicide and Mental Health Awareness CLG and will be presented by singer songwriter Myles Gaffney and friends for its 5th year running.

The event aims to raise awareness of positive mental health and to inform people of the mental health services and resources in their localities.

The line-up for this year includes returning acts The Kabin Crew and Misneach with new acts Burkie, Dylan Brickley and Korey Power also set to take to the stage.

Make Some Noise Cork in association with Shine a Light Suicide and Mental Health Awareness CLG are asking people to join them on the night for information on mental health services in their locality and for some of Cork’s finest talent.

The charity wants people to know that ‘talking is a sign of strength not weakness’.

Tickets are on sale for €9 and can be bought at the box office Dance Cork Firkin Crane.

Shine a Light Suicide and Mental Health Awareness CLG has a not-for-profit focus and aims to increase awareness around mental health and suicide. The charity is made up of local people and representatives of both voluntary and statutory services who want to decrease suicides by providing resources to those in need.

Their resources and services include counselling at a low cost, bereavement support groups, informing people about other organisations that can help and SafeTALK and ASIT suicide awareness training.
