Chupi Sweetman with Aoife McNamara.

Ethical elegance takes centre stage

We love to see businesses teaming up to create something wonderful and last week saw Irish sustainable fashion brand Aoife Mc Namara debut her designs in Dublin at the Chupi flagship store in Powerscourt Townhouse.

Speaking about the pop-up, Aoife McNamara said: "Bringing my designs to Dublin with thanks to Chupi is a dream come true. It's not just about showcasing my collection but about creating an experience where people can truly connect with my sustainable womenswear in person.

"Chupi Sweetman is not just a mentor but a fellow creative in business who has provided unwavering support on my journey. Our shared commitment to ethics and sustainability makes this even more special. This pop-up is an opportunity to introduce a wider audience to our Irish ethically crafted pieces and to celebrate the power of collaboration in the world of conscious fashion."

Aoife McNamara’s designs are inspired by a mission to reconnect people to nature. Her pieces are predominantly handmade in Ireland using eco-friendly materials, such as natural yarn-dyed Irish linen and 100% Irish wool - proving that it is possible to make beautiful clothes with a positive impact on the environment, society and the fashion industry.

The founder and chief designer of her eponymous label, Aoife set about creating unique Irish garments that were at peace with the planet. Since 2019, the Aoife McNamara brand has gained a cult following online and established a flagship store in a thatched cottage in Adare, Co. Limerick.

It is committed to an innovative fashion future that values creativity and beauty, people and planet, and quality over quantity. Most of its garments are manufactured in Ireland using traditional fabrics such as Irish tweeds and linens and innovative sustainable and natural materials.
