Mama is a Dreamer is a Cork jewellery brand.

Stacked style

If easy to wear, stackable jewellery is your vibe, then Cork brand Mama is a Dreamer is the one for you. Her bracelets are perfect for stacking to create your own personal look and the beaded pieces look great with a mix of gold plates beads, gemstones and pearls.

Owner Amy is a Cork woman who spent 6 years travelling and living in Australia and came back Ireland in 2013 to be closer to friends and family. Having worked in a corporate office for 20 years before she started Mama is a Dreamer in 2022, she feels very lucky to have such a supportive husband and family who really believed in her when she decided to leave her corporate role this year.

Amy says: ”My mom loved jewellery and accessories and I get that from her! Mama is a Dreamer started out as a means to escape from two small children and housework in the evenings and I started making bracelets. I wanted to make jewellery for myself that was affordable but also fashionable. At the time I was really starting to see a trend with gold beading, crystal gemstones and personalised jewellery.”

She has worked on some really special pieces and one that really stands out to her was a piece of jewellery left by a grandmother to a grand-daughter. The grandmother had sadly passed away and the jewellery needed to be reworked to modernise and bring it to the 21st century.

The necklace was reworked to make a set of bracelets and a pair of earrings and was modernised by adding new beads and charms.

At the moment the brand is stocked in Orla Visual studio in Mallow, online on the website, and Amy is also a regular at fashion shows and markets with her pop-up shop.

“I love meeting customers in person, it’s so fab to see someone get excited to wear something that I have made. Working on my own from home sometimes I miss that personal interaction.”

In other news, congratulations to Irish brand NOEMA on making their fashion week debut.
