Republic of Work is is set to host an event to highlight the impact of the fashion industry on the environment.

The Future of Fashion 2030 & Beyond will look at how we think about our planet and lifestyle, putting a spotlight on the textile and apparel industry as an area where consumer trends have significantly shifted. Guest speakers will take a deeper look at themes such as material innovation, circular fashion; and smart design and production.

Speakers on the night include eco-conscious entrepreneurs Tom Cotter, CEO of OceanR; Jack Norman, co-founder of Zirkulu; and Shana Chu, Founder and CEO of Tailr.

Looking ahead to the event, Eshna Gogia, Programme Manager at Republic of Work said: “As a society we are moving from mindless consumption to mindful purchasing - people are looking to move away from fast fashion and are seeking responsibly made materials.

“We’re seeing increasing preferences for sustainable, vegan, leather and organic clothing and textiles, and there’s pressure on the fashion industry to respond to these consumer demands. The Future of Fashion 2023 & Beyond will explore what this means going forward.“

Future of Fashion, 2023 & Beyond takes place between 5pm and 8pm on Thursday 9 November. It’s a free event but registration is necessary. For more information see www.eventbrite.ie.
