In other news, I decided very last minute to take a weekend trip to Treviso in Italy and so I am currently trying to decide what to pack. The temperatures look similar here but no doubt without the wind it won't be as cold and while I’m fully embracing knitwear and coats at the moment, I feel like this trip will require a shedding of layers that has me all out of sorts.
Do I risk sticking with my current wardrobe and become a sweaty mess in Italy or do I dress light and risk looking ridiculously summery while the Italians look chic in cashmere and light jackets? Add to the mix at least one day of rain and a tiny carry-on bag and it’s just a mine field. I’m currently going through a phase where all I want to wear is comfy, hibernation style clothing like matching leisurewear so perhaps I’ll incorporate that into the packing.
One thing that I always find helpful is to decide on what sort of colourway I want to bring and I may base the whole holiday wardrobe on a leopard print jacket I got a few years ago from Free People. Leopard is a neutral after all and works well over pretty much anything from black joggers and knit to an LBD I bought recently in H&M. I’ll dress things up with chunky gold jewellery and then it’s just the absolute dilemma of footwear to sort.
