Cork to kick off The Secret Headliner series

Cork is set to be the first city to host The Secret Headliner, a series dedicated to showcasing the live music scene across Ireland.

Produced for Virgin Media Television and scheduled for broadcast later in 2024, this series will feature three prominent Irish artists performing secret gigs in small local venues across the country.

Commencing on Thursday 7 December, The Crane Lane Theatre in Cork will host the first exclusive event, offering local music fans a rare opportunity to see one of three high-profile artists in a more intimate setting.

In addition, a special local support act has been handpicked to play, with local band Simple Things revealed to perform the Cork leg of the series.

In the wake of the pandemic, many music venues and musicians have been badly impacted, with much of the live music scene still recovering. As a tribute to the grassroots music scene and in support of upcoming, emerging talent, the anonymous major headliner has chosen to play in a space and venue where it all begins.

A build up of excitement is anticipated over the next fortnight with the mystery headliner only being officially revealed when they take to the stage on the evening of 7 December at The Crane Lane.

Attendance is free, but tickets are limited. For more details on how to secure tickets, interested parties can email tshaudience@indiepics.ie.
