New wound care clinic opens in city centre

A new specialised medical service has just begun to be offered by Affidea in Affidea ExpressCare at the Elysian.

Affidea’s latest service includes the newly introduced Rapid Access Wound Care Clinic. This specialised facility is for all individuals aged 1 and above.

Affidea is one of Ireland’s leading independent provider of diagnostic imaging and outpatient services with over 14 scanning locations throughout the country, delivering essential services like x-rays, MRI, ultrasound, CT and DXA scans.

This clinic is dedicated to providing expert care for a variety of common wound related concerns. Traditionally, individuals would visit hospitals or GPs for routine wound care. With the establishment of this clinic, Affidea aims to ease this process by providing a dedicated space for efficient and specialised wound care.

The clinic will offer various services related to wound care needs, from the removal of stiches and clips to wick dressing and care for skin tears, burns, post operative wounds and lacerations.

The Rapid Access Wound Care Clinic will address a variety of wound types but it’s essential to note a few exclusions. The clinic does not provide service for vac & pico dressing, or chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, diabetic wounds, and post-amputations wounds.

Patient will have the flexibility to self-refer or to be referred by their GP or consultant/doctor for their wound management. This approach will ensure a comprehensive and integrated care for individuals seeking specialised wound care.
