A fashionable affair

I personally love January and find after a month of festivities, parties and socializing, the beginning of the year can be a little bit of a palette cleanser. I never do a dry January but I certainly take it easy in January focusing on getting out into the fresh air and hitting my favourite workout classes.

This January I have some exciting styling projects at the very beginning of the month so I’m certainly back with a bang. I also have a big family wedding this year so I have lots of wedding things on my mind and have come across the most beautiful wedding and occasion boutique called Something Blue Studio.

If you are a bride, bridesmaid, wedding guest or just a lover of beautiful things, you must check out this store which is based in Wexford but also has a website that you can peruse at your leisure. Boutique owner Jeanette Walsh set up the store following a big leap of faith in 2022 as she wanted to explore the concept of creating a unique and friendly space that allowed clients to feel completely at ease to explore unique styling options.

The offerings within the store and online are always evolving and Jeanette likes to carefully select small batches of items from international artisan brands and designers.

The current range includes statement jewellery, headwear, footwear, apparel and gifts. The jewellery is particularly beautiful with statement earrings being a particular favourite of mine and I love to see a bride wearing a simple dress but with big statement accessories or like my own wedding gown, go for something super beaded and embellished and layer more gems over that.

I love how bridal style is so much more relaxed now and that is totally reflected in the gorgeous pieces in Something Blue Studio. They are also currently the exclusive Irish stockists of the wedding shoe brand Forever Soles and the footwear here is absolutely divine. I especially think the blue velvet sandals add a lovely touch to a bridal look while I am also totally here for a cowboy boot on ones wedding day. I myself wore pink suede cowboy boots for dancing at my own wedding.

For 2024 expect to see more exclusive ‘in house’ designs and launches of one off pieces and limited edition collaborations and bespoke orders are always popular with Something Blue Studio clients.

I get the sense that this boutique owner would be a massive help to somebody who isn’t quite sure how to style themselves or their wedding party for their big day.
