Beer will be the focus of an event next week run by MII Cork (Marketing Institute Ireland, Cork branch) who are hosting their first event of the year.

Masterclass in Marketing Excellence: Brewing Award-Winning Campaigns with Birra Moretti takes place at the Heineken Brewery, Cork, on Tuesday 16 January, in partnership with Cork Chamber.

Jim Geraghty, Marketing Manager, the Heineken Group will explore Birra Moretti’s Life’s Simple Pleasures campaign, which won the Brand Campaign award at MII’s All-Ireland Marketing (AIM) Awards in May last year. “It was an enormous honour for us to receive the Brand Campaign award at the AIM Awards,” Geraghty said, “and to be recognised for our hard work and determination in such a competitive landscape.

“I am thrilled to speak with MII Cork about how we created this campaign and the steps we took to create it. We will discuss everything from our original objectives to the impressive results.

“Marketing is an ever-evolving industry, with new challenges coming all the time, and we are really proud of this piece of work which was effective yet simple.” Discussing the upcoming event, MII Cork Chair Ezara Ahern Easter said: “I couldn’t be more excited for our MII Cork January event. The AIM Awards are a celebration of Irish business success, so hearing first hand from the overall brand campaign winner is sure to be insightful.”

Attendees will gain tips for entering MII’s AIM Awards 2024, which are officially open for entries. Ahern Easter was keen to encourage Cork’s marketers to submit their campaigns.“I would also ask marketing professionals who are particularly proud of a certain campaign or initiative to take the leap by entering the 2024 AIM Awards which honours the fantastic achievements of marketers across the country.” The event will take place on Tuesday 16 January at 6pm at the Heineken Brewery, Leitrim Street. Tickets are €15 for MII Cork members and €25 for non-members. Tickets are available on https://mii.ie/marketing-events/. There is no parking on-site.

The event commences the 2024 season, which continues with The Business of Sport event on 6 February, in partnership with UCC. This will be followed by an ‘80s themed MII Cork Ball on 9 March, which will raise funds for Cork Cancer Care Centre. MII AIM Awards 2024 is now open for entries.
