Giving chickens a peck-ond chance

Coming to Cork on 27 January, LittleHill Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is looking for new homes for hundreds of battery caged hens from a commercial egg farm, that will otherwise be slaughtered to make way for new stock.

The service is looking for anyone who can offer a home to at least two hens to get in touch through their Facebook page facebook.com/littlehillanimalrescue.

Anyone who would like to give a home to two or more hens is asked to direct message LittleHill Animal Rescue & Sanctuary with a chosen collection point, a phone number, and the number of hens they would like to adopt.

Prospective new hen owners are reminded that an adoption fee will be required to help with the cost of rescuing the animals.

Also, adequate transport carriers such as cat carriers, dog crates, or cardboard boxes with lots of hole will be needed per every two birds taken.
