Go Irish this St Patrick's Day

With St Patrick’s Day coming up, there’s no better time of year to celebrate the Irish.

The amount of fashion and beauty products coming from Ireland is increasing year on year which is wonderful to see. From clothing to technology to haircare to skincare, supporting Irish has never been easier. We’ve handpicked just a very small portion of Irish companies producing some fabulous products.

Let’s start with Ora Clothing which offers designs for women who wear sizes 14-24. This focus on flattering design has by Ora has made it become a go-to destination for plus-size women. The brand is unusual in that its designed specifically for curvy women and is not just an extension of a standard size range. Their lines are available in boutiques nationwide.

Then there’s Sinead Keary the Label. Founded in 2020 by personal shopper and designer Sinead Keary, her collection of luxury essentials can help in forming the foundations of a capsule collection.

On to skincare. Skin Formulas was founded by Geraldine Jones with one clear goal, make skincare simple! Skin Formulas says it uses active ingredients to treat common skin concerns. Meanwhile Haumea Skincare was founded by Anna Forde and focusses on creating luxury high-end skincare devices, products and accessories that allow customers to get an in-salon experience at home.

If it’s a cosmetics and tanning brand you’re looking for, Bellamianta are a firm favourite among the beauty and tanning elite across the Emerald Isle and afar. They have a vast celebrity fan base which has grown since they launched in 2015. They recently launched an All-in-One Face and Eye Palette.

There’s also BPerfect Cosmetics. Born in county Down, founder Brendan McDowell’s true vision and drive are the main forces behind its success. Since Brendan appeared on RTÉ's ‘Dragons Den’ in 2017 and turned down an €80k investment offer, he's worked tirelessly to develop his brand into what it is today. Earlier this year, BPerfect Cosmetics launched its Full Impact Concealer with a campaign highlighting the beauty of diversity; with their 26 shades represented by eight remarkable individuals. Fronting the campaign were Northern Irish GAA star Lara Dahunsi, model Kate Grant and her mum Deirdre, climate activist Evanjelin Elchmanar, meningitis survivor Tilly Lockey, hair loss advocate Stephanie Barber, trans community activist Logan Brown, and Deborah Somorin of Empower The Family charity.

Lastly, haircare. CurlyCo was founded by Denise Walsh, award winning hair stylist and founder of Rustiq Salon in Kilkenny. After years of neglecting and mistreating her own curls, Denise set out on a path to embrace and care for her curls. With 25+ years behind her in the hair industry she was searching for a curly care range to meet every curly need. Her journey led her to create CurlyCo, a collection of defining and conditioning products to enhance all our curls.
