Keeping cinema Fresh

Cork film enthusiasts, prepare to be captivated by a new cinematic experience like no other this weekend.

This Sunday, Generation Fresh will be screening at Cork Omniplex in Mahon Point Shopping Centre, featuring a thoughtfully curated selection of 15 short films by young Irish filmmakers.

The screening is 90 minutes in total and tickets can be purchased for €5 at omniplex.ie.

Spanning various genres and themes, each film provides a glimpse into the boundless creativity of today's emerging filmmakers.

Generation Fresh is presented by Fresh Film and Omniplex Cinema Group.

Jayne Foley, Artistic Director of Fresh Film, said: "Generation Fresh is more than just a film screening – it’s a celebration of creativity, diversity and the limitless possibilities of storytelling. We can’t wait to share these films with our audiences, watching as they come to life on screen and showcasing the potential of tomorrow's dynamic filmmakers.”

Facilitated and supported by Omniplex Cinemas, the film screening looks to provide an opportunity for young Irish filmmakers to showcase their work to the public while offering film fans the chance to enjoy an array of short films crafted by the next generation of talent.

Themes explored in the programme range from special powers, unrequited love, redemption, cyber-crime, identity, and murder, aiming to deliver a diverse and thought-provoking cinematic experience suitable for audiences of all ages. (Rated PG)

Based in Limerick, Fresh Film encourage young people to explore filmmaking as a career, facilitating opportunities to learn the craft of visual storytelling and helping young people to understand the collaborative filmmaking process from first draft to final frame. Fresh works to drive awareness for sustainable career opportunities both in front of and behind the camera, inspiring and strengthening Ireland’s future film, television, and creative talent pool.
