Site re-zoned ahead of new medical centre

Planning permission for the development in the Togher area of Cork city was lodged in 2021 and was granted at the end of August 2022.

The exact location of the centre is not yet known to the public. At the most recent Regional Health Forum South Meeting at Cork County Hall, Cork City Councillor Fiona Kerins (SF) asked the HSE to provide an update on the proposed medical centre.

In its response, the HSE confirmed that a letter of intent had been issued and that layouts are currently being developed for the centre.

The HSE also confirmed that the chosen site for the new medical centre has been re-zoned.In a written response to Cllr Kerin’s request, Daniel Clifford, Assistant National Director of Estates, HSE South West, said: "The HSE is now engaging with the site’s landlord's architect to conclude on layouts.

“Planning permission was lodged in Q4 2021, planning application was subject to further Information, information has been returned, planning permission granted end of August 2022. The HSE has been in communication with the developer regarding the status of the development,” confirmed Mr Clifford.
