Carers charity boosted by iPad donation
A major employer in Cork marked Carer's Week events with a series of events and a major partnership with Family Carers Ireland.
PepsiCo is partnering with the carers’ charity, who try to benefit the community by supporting and promoting the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of family carers and those for whom they care.
The charity helps some of the 20,000 family carers in Cork who care for loved ones with additional needs, physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs, or those living with chronic illnesses, mental health challenges, or addiction.
Throughout Carer's Week, PepsiCo hosted a series of events across its sites to raise awareness, encourage connection, and support fundraising efforts for Family Carers Ireland. These included a company-wide campaign, informative talks, and local engagement activities - all aimed at empowering carers and reinforcing the message that support is available. National Carers Week ran from 9-15 June.
“On behalf of all family carers I cannot thank the staff and management here in PepsiCo enough for choosing Family Carers Ireland as one of their charity partners,” said Peter Cox, Family Carers Support Manager Cork.
“I particularly want to thank them for their recent very generous monetary donation, for the iPads donated to our young carers to enable them to connect with our team/services virtually, and for providing us the opportunity to provide talks to their employees during Carers Week 2025. The donation will help us as a voluntary organisation to fund more supports and services for family carers and young carers in Cork city and county. No one should have to care alone.”
PepsiCo extended its heartfelt gratitude to all participants and supporters of these events, helping to make a meaningful impact in the lives of family carers and those they care for.
