Gardaí launch recruitment campaign at the Ploughing
A fresh recruitment drive for an Garda Síochána was announced this week at the National Ploughing Championships in Co Offaly.
The trainee recruitment campaign, named It's A Job Worth Doing, was officially launched on Tuesday.
Minister for Justice, Home Affairs, and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan TD and Justin Kelly, Commissioner of An Garda Síochána announced the campaign at the event.
More than 2,000 garda trainees have entered the Garda College since the first garda recruits, post-Covid, entered the college in December 2022. Currently, over 550 garda recruits are undergoing the training programme at the Garda College.An Garda Síochána confirmed that recruit classes are now entering the Garda College every 11 to 12 weeks.
A spokesperson said: “Joining an Garda Síochána will change your life, and the lives of others. From the moment you join, it will be a mix of challenges, rewards, new skills, and new friends.
“Your personal impact on people and the community will give you a sense of achievement like nothing else,” they added.
