Christmas in the City: Let the bells ring out in Shandon…

A special one-day Christmas market raising crucial funds for the conservation and preservation of Shandon Bells will take place in Cork next weekend.

The Giving Thanks Christmas Market is being organised by St Anne's Church, home of the iconic Cork city landmark, Shandon Bells.

The market will be brimming with high-quality gifts crafted by artists and makers based in the Shandon area, meaning all purchases will be truly unique and locally made.

“St Anne’s Church is a cultural and historical anchor for Cork, and conservation is an ongoing, vital process," said Rev Maghan Farr, Priest in Charge, Shandon.

“By focusing on our incredible local Shandon artists and makers, as well as others from across Cork, we hope to host a market that is not only a fantastic source of high-quality Christmas gifts, but also a meaningful display of community support for our shared heritage.”

The response to the market has been hugely positive and all vendor spaces are now full. The Giving Thanks Christmas Market will run from 11am-5pm on Saturday 22 November at St Anne's Church, Shandon.
