All aboard the Cobh Santa Express!
Located within the restored Victorian railway station at Cobh Heritage Centre and inspired by the ‘Polar Express Book’ by Chris Van Allsburg, the enchanting world of Cobh Santa Express will be brought to life.
Cobh Santa Express is organised by Cobh Heritage Centre in collaboration with the acclaimed Cork Puppetry Company—renowned for their work with Cork Opera House pantomimes and Santa experiences such as Cuskinny. This immersive event promises a magical journey through the sights, sounds and spirit of Christmas.
Visitors will be given a special train ticket and greeted by a Victorian train driver on arrival. Once aboard the invisible train, passengers will be taken on a Christmas travel themed adventure by sea and land where the charm of vintage train travel meets the wonder of the Christmas season.
The imaginary train journey will pass through various locations including the Enchanted Forest of Sounds and Magical Pine Trees before culminating with a visit to Santa’s Grotto and Santa Claus.
Beginning on Wednesday 3 December, Cobh Santa Express will run until Monday 22 December. Pre-booking is recommended on the Cobh Heritage Centre website - cobhheritage.com.
Located in the heart of Cobh, the Cobh Heritage Centre tells the story of the 3 million people who left Cobh and emigrated to countries all over the world including Australia, America, Canada, Barbados, and Jamacia.
