Bring warm tones into the home
For 2026, interiors are finding balance between calm and character.
That’s according to the team at EZ Living Interiors who spoke to us about Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Cloud Dancer, which they say marks a quiet shift.
They said: “This soft, vanilla-leaning white moves away from stark minimalism, acting as a gentle backdrop rather than a statement in itself. Pantone describes it as a structural colour – one designed to let other tones come forward.”
They added: “Those tones are increasingly warm and earthy. Terracotta, long associated with its overuse in the 1990s, is returning in a more refined, contemporary form. Muted rather than loud, it pairs naturally with warmer whites like Cloud Dancer, offering depth without visual noise.”
Together, they define a key direction for 2026: breathable white spaces grounded by earthy colour, natural materials and texture. The focus is less on trend-led impact and more on interiors that feel restorative, considered and built to last.
