Have some fun with reds and pinks

We’ve entered February and whether you celebrate it or not, I can’t help but feel like this month I’m always inspired to wear pinks, reds, heart motifs and embrace the Valentine's spirit.

Everywhere I look there’s a nod to the pink and red colour combinations and I’m reminded this is one of my favourite colour pairings to wear. It’s so colourful, fun and always looks very styled while being an easy look to get right.

Try wearing a red silky slip skirt with a slouchy bubble gum pink knitwear or reverse the colours and wear the red on top depending on which colours suit you best.

I also spotted a fab pink and red striped triangle scarf from Vanilla Boutique that is an easy way to wear both colours and looks great worn over neutrals like a grey or navy knit but also can look fun when styled over a pink or red knit to give a more maximalist vibe.

It’s also a perfect time to add some drama to your look with red accessories and I am still on the search for a red triangle scarf. At this stage I’m thinking about knitting one myself as they are so elusive.

If you don’t fancy wearing the colour red, then you could always treat yourself to a manicure and pick a shade of red for your nails. I’m currently sporting a very bright orange/red shade on my nails, and it is effortlessly brightening up all my darker winter outfits. Speaking of nails, I would be absolutely delighted with a nail salon voucher as a gift so if you know someone who likes to get their nails done, then this in my opinion is a top tier surprise gift.

I’m also a big believer in a good night's sleep being aided by great pyjamas and if you’re looking for Valentine's Day gift ideas or just want to treat yourself to a really nice pair then take a look at the bamboo pjs from Sinead Keary The Label. Crafted from 100% sustainable bamboo jersey, these pyjamas combine supreme comfort with eco-friendly elegance, ensuring you’ll sleep in style while feeling pampered. I mean what more could you ask for!

I love the berry shade with white mother of pearl buttons and a scalloped edging to the cuffs and hem which give it a unique and luxurious feel. The blue check cherry print set is also super cute and looks so soft and cosy which is perfect for lounging around the house on these darker evenings while the special material helps regulate body temperature to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.

Other great Valentine’s gifts that I think are always very much appreciated are candles. Always a winner in my book especially Irish brands such as Somas or La Boujie and it is such a treat to come in from work, get the nice pjs on and light a gorgeous candle. It’s my ideal evening when I’m in hibernation mode.

You don’t need to buy stuff either; I adore having an experience so why not get dressed up and go for a delicious brunch? The River Lee is a great combination of great aesthetics, good cocktails and such tasty food and it really feels like a treat. You could also visit the Rebel City Distillery, home of Maharani Gin and do their cocktail class and distillery tour led by the fabulous co-founder Bhagya Barrett which takes place every Friday and Saturday.

Perfect date days for Valentines or for any time of the year. You know where to find me on 14 February.
