Laser therapy for arthritis

A new treatment has come to market treating arthritis with high power laser therapy.

The number of people in Ireland living with arthritis is growing rapidly with current estimates of almost 1 million now having some form of the condition.

Treatments to date have been limited, ranging from medications, physiotherapy, injections, and surgery.

For many people, these treatments have largely been unsuccessful and often come with side effects.

With high power laser therapy, the laser penetrates a high amount of light energy at medical grade wavelengths into the joint, leading to a biological process within the cells.

This process can deliver significant pain relief and inflammation suppression while also stimulating tissue healing.

Co-founder Shane Hennessy said the company has seen significant demand in the past 12 months for the new therapy.
