The season to embrace neutrals
Is it just me or does it feel like we are entering in-betweeny dressing season?
Not quite winter, not quite spring, do we need a raincoat or can we get away with just a jacket time of year? It’s around now where I rely heavily on my go-to wardrobe basics to get me through to the next season and considered layering ensures I’m dressed for any occasion or whatever weather type the day decides upon.
You don’t need a huge wardrobe of items, just some carefully considered pieces that fit in perfectly with your lifestyle. This is the season where we embrace the neutrals and personal favourites of mine are navy, grey and a light sandy beige.
These neutrals look effortlessly expensive and can be easily mixed and matched together. Some people prefer black, but I can look washed out if I wear black near my face while other people really rock this classic neutral. If I do wear black, I always ensure to lift it with a scarf or even a brooch on a jacket lapel can do wonders.
One label that is really doing that between season dressing right is Maebe who have just launched their new Between Seasons collection. The label might sound familiar to you as Maebe was founded in 2024 by Molly-Mae, who built her career by staying true to who she is: confident, grounded and uplifted by the women around her. The brand was born from that same vision, with the goal of meeting women exactly where they are, offering pieces that feel supportive, adaptable, and quietly elevating as life evolves.
Almost two years on, the brand is scaling quickly while doubling down on what matters most to them which is product. With expanded quality controls, wear-testing and production development built into every drop, Maebe continues to strengthen its collections so each piece feels more durable, refined and more dependable with every season. The quality is so luxe which is what you want from these wardrobe essentials.
The brand's aesthetic is rooted in layering and versatility, the collection embraces the unpredictability of everyday dressing, where warmth, comfort and refinement must coexist. As any Irish person will know, this is key to having a successful wardrobe of well-worn pieces.
Clean lines, thoughtful tailoring and adaptable layering pieces form a wardrobe grounded in ease and poise this makes the pieces refined without excess and designed to be worn on repeat. More than a seasonal drop, Between Seasons reflects the realities of modern life and these are timeless pieces with a twist that you’ll be able to style season after season with looks that remain classic and never date.
Jackets and trousers are key items in any transitional wardrobe, so these are always the pieces I ensure I’ve gotten right. I adore a jacket with an interesting silhouette so look for pieces that have a balloon sleeve or that can be cinched in at the waist with belting. I’m also loving a funnel neck jacket and I feel that this sort of silhouette is fast becoming a modern classic.
When it comes to trousers, I want a pair of trousers that are tailored but in a very laidback way - cinched at the waist but with a loose leg silhouette or a more carrot style.
At its core, Between Seasons celebrates dressing with intention so that you always look styled but with minimum effort. Designed to evolve with the wearer through changing weather, routines and life stages, the collection reflects Maebe’s ongoing commitment to versatility, timelessness and quiet confidence. It invites women to embrace the in-between, where personal style feels effortless, enduring and entirely their own.
