You simply cannot beat fresh sheets on the bed and pyjamas that look chic, are of amazing quality, and make you feel like a luxurious diva.

I feel like it even improves my sleep quality, especially when I add in a sleep mask. It's giving 'look at this woman who is living her best life' vibes! What’s even better is that we have a number of businesses right here in Ireland that are specialising in bringing you luxury sleepwear that won’t break the bank.

One label I’m loving recently is LilyMoon, a sleepwear and self-care wear brand created with one simple belief: women deserve to feel just as comfortable and confident at home as they do when they step outside the door.

Comfort is absolutely key, and I know personally that when I come in the door after a long day at work, the first thing I want to do is get into my comfy clothes, but I also want those items to look good. This is a sentiment shared by LilyMoon founder Sinead Thompson who created the brand out of her own personal need for sleepwear that felt beautiful but without compromising on comfort.

Experiencing night sweats and hot flushes made fabric choice particularly important and that search for something that could help her feel comfortable and confident at home became the inspiration behind LilyMoon.

I am such a fan of breathable bamboo fabric for my sleep wear, and the brand offers a choice of pieces in both bamboo and satin with the Sioda collection being made from 100% mulberry silk. Mulberry silk is also great for night wear as it feels very soft but also is very cool against the skin, so it won’t irritate you and will keep you cool in bed.

One feature that I love about the LilyMoon collections is the bralette which can be worn as part of a set or worn on its own and is perfect for those of us who at times run a bit hot and want the option of taking on or off layers but still want to look put together.

LilyMoon is approaching its first birthday this October, with new collections continuing to build on Sinead’s vison for an Irish brand created with real women and real life in mind.

While I am all for self-gifting, I do think gorgeous pyjamas sets or eye masks make for perfect presents for a friend or loved one. I’m very partial to a quirky print pyjamas but I do also love a classic style PJ in a neutral block colour and in winter I have been known to rock some tartan pyjamas, but when it comes to gifting to others you can’t go wrong with a chic, classic pair of PJs in super soft bamboo fabric.

For me, I know that the fit absolutely must be right when I’m choosing my sleep wear and I love a loose shape that’s not going to bunch up or twist around my body.

I also want a comfy waistband and if I can’t try on beforehand I’ll always make sure to pay close attention to the brand measurement chart.
