Maxi Zoo feline fine for International Cat Day

It’s time to celebrate your furry loved ones! Maxi Zoo is gearing up to celebrate International Cat Day which takes place this Sat- urday, 8 August.

Ireland’s largest pet re- tailer recognises that an- imal owners love to treat their pets, and to cele- brate, Maxi Zoo will have free treats for cats on the special day.

Maxi Zoo has also come up with a feline-feel good checklist so pet parents can tell if their cat is happy all year round, and not just on their special day.

A happy cat will show you they are content by:

• Purring when you offer them a treat

• Enjoying quality time together, and gets involved with play time

• Has a shiny, well-groomed coat and enjoys being petted

• Constantly spends time around you and purrs when they are being stroked

• Plus if you notice your cat observing you through half-closed eyes and blinking at you, then you’re definitely on the right track as a blink is the equivalent of a smile in cat language
