Raining VATs and dogs

It’s good news for pet owners as Ireland’s largest pet retailer has announced price reductions on all items across its 20 stores.

Maxi Zoo, who has outlets in Ballincollig and Midleton, says it will be passing on the savings from the newly reduced VAT rates to its customers.

One of the key measures outlined by the Government in July in its €5 billion rescue package was that the standard rate of VAT would be cut from 23 per cent to 21 per cent across the board from 1 September until 28 February 2021.

Maxi Zoo stores will be offering reductions on all products, regardless of VAT rate on the items. The discount will be applied at the till.
