New book brings Graham to Bandon

Treasured author and TV personality Graham Norton will pay a visit home to attend the launch of a book about the history of Bandon Grammar School.
The launch of ‘Bandon Grammar School: A History’ will take place at Bandon Grammar School on Monday 25 November at 2pm.

The BBC chat show host was a student at the school, finishing his studies in 1981.

He will return to officially launch the book which was written by principal Ian Coombes.

The book took three years to complete and required extensive research. Mr Coombes consulted school records, old editions of the school’s magazine, Cork Constitution, as well as memorabilia from past pupils in creating the book which details the school’s 378-year history.

The launch is a ticket-only event and in excess of 600 guests are expected to attend.
