Advertising Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all advertising booked with Cork Independent Newspapers Ltd. (“the Company”). By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. Placing an Order
• All advertising bookings are subject to acceptance by the Company.
• Orders may be placed by email, telephone, in person or through an authorised agent.
• The Company reserves the right to refuse, suspend or cancel any booking, particularly where payment is overdue or for any other reasonable business reason.

2. Advertising Content
By submitting an advertisement, you confirm that:
• You have the right to use all text, images, logos, graphics and other content supplied.
• Your advertisement does not infringe the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Your advertisement is not misleading, defamatory, offensive or unlawful.
• Your advertisement complies with all applicable laws and the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) Code.
• Political Advertising Transparency – All political ads being placed by political parties, individuals or others must comply with the Transparency and Targeting of Political Advertising Regulation (EU) 2024/900, which came into effect on 10 October 2025.

You agree to indemnify the Company against any claims, losses, costs or liabilities arising from the content of your advertisement.

Where the Company designs an advertisement on your behalf, the design remains the copyright of the Company unless otherwise agreed.

3. Prices and Quotations
• Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
• All prices are exclusive of VAT unless specifically stated otherwise.
• VAT will be charged at the applicable rate.

4. Artwork Approval
• Customers are responsible for approving the final artwork before publication.
• Unless advised otherwise, approval must be received by 11.00 am on the Wednesday before publication. Earlier deadlines may apply for some editions.
• Once approved, responsibility for the content rests with the customer.

5. Cancellations
• Advertisements cancelled after 5.00 pm on the Monday before publication day will be charged in full.

6. Errors and Publication
• Customers must notify the Company in writing of any invoice queries within seven days of receipt.
• Minor typographical or design errors that do not materially affect the advertisement will not qualify for a refund or free re-publication.
• While every effort is made to publish advertisements accurately, the Company cannot accept liability for printing errors, omissions, delays or circumstances beyond its control.
• The Company reserves the right to omit, suspend or refuse any advertisement, article, photograph or other material without giving a reason.

7. Payment
New Customers
Payment must be received before publication unless a credit account has been approved.

Account Customers
Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Credit Limits
The Company may set a credit limit for account customers. If that limit is reached or exceeded, payment may be required before further advertisements are accepted.

Payment Methods
• Bank transfer
• Debit or credit card
• Cash
• Cheque
• Bank draft
• Any other method approved by the Company.

For advertisements requiring payment before publication:
• Cleared cheque funds or bank transfers must be received by 5.00 pm on the Monday before publication.

The Company may request a credit or debit card guarantee and reserves the right to charge outstanding amounts to that card where authorised.

8. Late Payment
• The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue accounts in accordance with the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations.
• Customers are responsible for all reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts, including legal fees where applicable.

9. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

10. Changes to These Terms
The Company may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time an order is placed will apply.
