Summertime simplicity
When it comes to summer beauty, I’ve learned that less really is more.
Heavy-duty creams and elaborate hair routines just don’t appeal when the sun is shining (or, let’s be honest, when the Irish humidity is doing its worst). Instead, I’ve been streamlining with a handful of clever products that work hard without demanding too much effort.
First up, Sol Luxe SPF 30 (€25) has been my daily go-to.
It’s light as air — more like a serum than a traditional SPF — so it sinks in instantly and doesn’t leave that dreaded white cast. With hyaluronic acid and prickly pear extract, it hydrates as well as protects, which means I can skip an extra moisturiser step most mornings.
Of course, after long days outdoors, skin needs some TLC. Sol Luxe Aftersun (€28) has been living on my bedside table.
It’s buttery-soft, soothing and sinks in without stickiness. It’s the perfect way to wind down after a day in the sun (or chasing it, as the case may be).
Lips often get overlooked, but Sol Luxe SPF 30 Clear Lip Balm (€18) has been a little saviour.
It gives a glossy finish, hydrates, and protects from sun damage — all while making lips look a touch plumper thanks to peptides. One swipe and you’re sorted.
Now, let’s talk hair. Mine tends to turn into a frizz-fest the second there’s moisture in the air. Enter Color Wow DREAMING (€45), a repairing mask that smooths and seals in just a few minutes.
It’s one of those products that makes you look polished with minimal effort — which, let’s be honest, is the summer dream.
And finally, the finishing touch: brows. Bellamianta Brow Sculpt Serum (€22) has been my new brow hero.
It sets without crunchiness, keeps hairs in place all day, and actually conditions them too. Strong, sleek brows with zero effort? Yes, please!
So that’s my current lineup for keeping things simple but effective. A little SPF, some soothing hydration, frizz control, and polished brows — proof that sometimes the best beauty routine is the one that does the most with the least.
