CareChoice celebrates staff excellence at awards
One of Ireland’s leading residential care providers hosted its second annual GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Awards recently with a number of Cork winners attending.
CareChoice hosted the awards night on Thursday 20 November at The Park Hotel, Dungarvan. The evening was a celebration of the people who make CareChoice exceptional — its dedicated and compassionate staff.
Hosted by actor and presenter Simon Delany, and featuring a lively performance from Spring Break, the event recognised team members across Dublin, Cork, Meath and Waterford, who embody CareChoice’s core values: compassion, teamwork, honesty, and the pursuit of excellence.
Speaking at the event, Stuart Murphy, CEO of CareChoice said: “What makes CareChoice remarkable is our people. Every day across our homes, I see compassion in action, honesty in how we work, and a genuine pursuit of excellence. These are not just words; they are lived values that enrich the lives of our residents, our patients, and each other.
“Tonight’s awards highlighted extraordinary examples of teamwork, kindness, and care — proof that we can never do too much for the people we support.”
With over 200 guest in attendance, awards were presented across multiple categories including:
Dining Experience of the year – Brookfield Care Centre
Making a Difference Award – Bridget Luby, Ballynoe Nursing Home
Nurse of the Year – Merin Mammen, Beaumont Residential Care Home
Housekeeper of the Year - Megan Purssord, CareChoice Clonakilty.
CareChoice was also proud to partner with its premium and gold sponsors whose generous support helped make the celebration possible. Their contribution highlights the value they place on those working in frontline and support care roles throughout the country.
