Bomb threats made to Cork schools

A number of bomb threats have been made to schools around Cork today.

Gardaí have confirmed that they are investigating.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that they are "aware of a communication that has been sent to a number of educational establishments today, 14 October 2025".

"Gardaí are currently assessing the contents and credibility of that communication. Gardaí are engaging with a number of educational establishments.

"No further information is available at this time," they said.

It is understood that the calls were hoax threats, and that there have been similar calls made to schools outside of Cork.

Teachers and other staff at schools are currently taking part in a national day of strike action as part of an ongoing dispute between public sector workers and the Government over pay and conditions.
