New Halloween event a no-brainer

A creepy new Halloween spectacle will lurch into Cork city this month when all of Leeside’s living dead come together in one spot.

On 24 October, the first ever Cork Zombie Walk will flood the streets of Cork as part of a fundraising drive for the Dragon of Shandon Samhain Parade.

The action will get underway at 4.30pm at Rory Gallagher Square where zombies and monsters of all ages are invited to gather and get into character.

Professional zombie face painters will be available to transform participants into the undead, ahead of a 30 minute loop walk around Cork city centre which kicks off at 6pm.

Participants are encouraged to come dressed as zombies and monsters, with tips for DIY costume making now available at on the Cork Community Art Link website who are organising the walk in partnership with The Fifth Quarter, 96FM and Cork Business Association.

Food and refreshments will be available at The Fifth Quarter, providing a central meeting point before and after the walk. The organisers are also inviting local businesses, community groups, and sponsors to get involved and help establish the Cork Zombie Walk as an annual Halloween celebration for the city.

Tickets to join Cork Zombie Walk 2026 are available now via zombiewalk.eventbrite.ie, with a voucher for food and drink included in the price. There is also an exclusive early-bird price for the first 75 participants. All proceeds from the event will support and feed the Dragon of Shandon 2026 which will take place on Halloween night.
