New products on the block

The world of cosmetics has evolved extensively since I wrote my first piece all those years ago. We have seen some amazing products come and go in limited editions, collaborations and celebrity affiliations.

I have a special love, too, for Irish products and will feature two in this piece including one completely new skincare brand - Celtic Wind.

Grown in harmony with the Irish climate and soil, Irish brand Celtic Wind’s CBD (cannabidiol) is like no other; rather than extract CBD from the hemp plant, they use cold pressing techniques to squeeze the whole of the hemp plant goodness into the bottle. This means that the oil, complete with 150 compounds and nutrients, is more effectively absorbed by the skin.

Paul McCourt, founder, developed Celtic Wind, a fully sustainable, Irish hemp business focused on premium products and supplements that are all 100 per cent natural. They believe in a truly sustainable future, reflected in their wide range of natural products.

A wonderful product that will soothe and relax the body, the Celtic Wind CBD Muscle Balm sees the CBD oil interact with turmeric’s most active compound, curcumin. Add to this another wonderful compound in the form of high-quality frankincense oil and your muscles and skin will feel amazing. Apply a small amount to fingers and massage into desired areas. Celtic Wind’s Body Oil harnesses the skin-boosting powers of CBD into a luxurious, 100 per cent natural oil that balances and revitalises the skin.

Featuring sweet almond oil (which itself is packed with moisturising), vitamin E, vitamin A, protein, potassium, zinc and fatty acids and may chang, with toning and refreshing qualities, this citrus-scented oil boasts anti-ageing properties while energising and resurfacing the skin.

Your skin will instantly look and feel more youthful.

Clientele Collection by BPerfect Cosmetics in partnership with international makeup artist Jah, includes a palette, pigments and lashes to create the perfect day and night-time autumn looks. The palette, priced at €39.95, contains 18 easy to blend mattes, 11 highly pigmented foiled shimmers and of course, one eye catching pressed pigment for that extra pop!

These glitter pigments can be used on the eyes, cheeks or in the hair line for that festival-inspired look. Each of the pots can be mixed and matched together to create a unique and personal glitter pigment for any look. It contains three blinding glitter pigments: Head, a gorgeous rose gold, Mainzy, a stunning white silver and Sire the Kat, a sultry black green with gold flecks (€21.95).

Top tip: apply a glitter glue or lash glue to the eye base before patting on the pigment using a flat packing brush.

And finally, you all know I am into fluttery lashes. The Clientele Lash (€8.95) is the perfect set of lashes to give any makeup look that finishing touch.

Every week my inbox is full of innovation and the quest for perfection. Foundation is exactly what it sounds like – the base upon which you’ll be building your entire look. The best foundation can help prep and prime your skin, creating the perfect canvas for you to work makeup magic or to leave blank for a beautiful, even toned and naturally glowing visage.

Skincare guru Image has just launched iConceal, and a little bit goes a long way! Formulated with natural-looking mineral pigments, the minerals sit on top of your skin and scatter light to blur out imperfections. This makes for a lightweight and breathable formula which is perfect for those with sensitive skin. A special blend of vitamins A, C, E, and beta-carotene to nourish the skin.

This special vitamin blend also helps neutralise damage-causing free radicals, which are known to contribute to the visible signs of aging. Iconceal is also formulated with plant stem cell extract, which improve the skin’s feel and appearance over time.
