Relax the natural way

Thursday, 24th October, 2019 9:26am

In recent times, I have been a massive fan of new technology and have forgotten that sometimes it's the simple things that help us remain beautiful, for example beauty sleep.

Things that I really adore are sleep and scent and this week we will fill your home with some natural nature-kind products for you and your family.

On Sunday 27 October, the clocks go back. Did you know that this small change in time, and the changing of the seasons and daylight hours can all have a real effect on your sleep patterns? If you haven’t been able to rise with your alarm clock the last few weeks, you will know this all too well!

Sleep plays such a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. Getting quality sleep can help protect your mental health, physical health and quality of life.

Lucy Wolfe is probably Ireland’s best-known sleep consultant and she runs a private sleep consulting practice where she provides knowledge, expertise and valuable support to people across the country. She is a regular guest on television and radio, writing for many magazines and online media sources. She is passionate about helping people get more sleep!

Sleep Through Body & Bed Sleep Spray (€19.99) is a natural blend of essential oils including lavender, cinnamon, camphor, vetiver and chamomile used by generations to help improve the quality and duration of sleep. Spray it on the chest area and lightly on bed clothes 30 minutes before sleep.

Sleep Through Relaxing Rub (€19.99) is a natural blend of essential oils including lavender, eucalyptus, clove and chamomile. Rub the lotion onto chest, wrists and soles of feet 20-30 minutes before bedtime as part of your pre-sleep ritual.

I can say it really knocked me out and I am not the world’s greatest sleeper!

Codex Bia Collection Cold Press Bar Soaps for Body (€20) are made using the traditional cold process method, which preserves the potency and benefits of plant-based butters, oils and essential oils. Codex makes efficient use of every step of the soap-making process, including reserving the extra, leftover oil, often referred to as the 'superfat', to blend into the final soap. This lends a gentle, extra luxurious, silky smooth feel that won’t strip skin or disrupt its natural pH.

A proprietary mix of essential oils further enhances the recipe with additional benefits, helping you feel cleansed, balanced, invigorated or uplifted depending on your choice of soap. With four soaps to choose from, there is sure to be one to suit your needs within the collection. They are, of course, great for the environment.

Green Angel has taken its many years’ experience of blending premium oils and fragrances to create a distinctive, luxurious and relaxing range of reed diffusers to fragrance your home in a safe and natural way. It's an excellent complement to the range of Green Angel candles giving you hours of scented pleasure.

The candles are as natural and organic as possible, just no harsh chemicals, no artificial colours, no paraffin, no mineral wax and are ethically sourced. Both of Green Angel’s candles and diffusers are available in two different scents, White Linen and Lime and Lemongrass.

The White Linen Diffuser (€29.95) and the White Linen Candle (€19.95) has fresh, powdery linen top notes, floral heart of rose and muguet accords over a woody, musky base.

Whereas the Lime & Lemongrass Diffuser (€29.95) and the Lime & Lemongrass Candle (€19.95) have fresh vibrant juicy fragrances with cool West Indian lime heated by hints of Jamaican ginger and aromatic lemongrass. They would make a great gift for someone special or for your home.
