Love the skin you're in

Wintertime means knitwear, hot chocolate, and cosy nights by the fire. But it also brings seemly never-ending harsh weather. Low temperatures and cutting winds can aggravate our skin, especially if it’s already prone to dryness.

Even if you aren’t atopic, you should keep your skin hydrated and fresh. The same thing applies to your hair and scalp. Sometimes even the oiliest of skins can be affected by the change in temperature.

Dry skin is characterised by a low concentration of natural hydrating factors, metabolism disorders of epidermal lipids and disorders of the sebaceous glands.

This makes the epidermis rough and dull, leads to hyperkeratosis and often causes persistent feeling of itchiness.

If you suffer with eczema and psoriasis, it can be especially uncomfortable. Topical treatments work well - these are the creams, gels, lotions, shampoos, etc applied to the skin or scalp.

Uriage Xémose Anti-Itch Soothing Oil Balm is a soothing and nourishing balm specially formulated for the care of atopic skins. This balm helps atopic skins subjected to severe skin dryness.

It contains three patented complexes that sooth the sensations of itching and the peaks of drought. Thanks to its high concentration of glycerine, xemose oil leaves a non-greasy protective film that protects the skin from external aggressions.

Enriched with shea butter, it soothes and relieves sensations of itching, tightness and discomfort.

Suu Balm Rapid Itch Relief Scalp Spray Moisturiser is ideal for people with scalp conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, bad dandruff, dry, itchy scalp, eczema or anyone whose scalp is constantly itchy. This product is free from drying alcohol, steroid, paraben and fragrances, making it suitable for use on all scalp types.

Suu Balm Cream Body Wash is ideal for gentle cleansing on sensitive and dry skin, leaving your skin feeling soothed, moisturised and refreshed. This soap, sulphate, fragrance, paraben and preservative free cream body wash is suitable for all skin types. It’s nicely cooling and comes in a handy pump action bottle.

Dermedic Linum Bath Oil is a lovely relief if you love baths but loathe the tightness that sometimes occurs with it. It creates a milky emulsion when combined with water and reinforces the protective lipid barrier of the skin without leaving a greasy film. It also helps improve elasticity of the epidermis.

And for the face, I have a trio of delights to keep you hydrated and supple.

As we age, the skin is less capable of maintaining moisture, and age-related loss of moisture can cause more dryness over time. In order to prevent this, and ensure total hydration is achieved, a good serum is an essential first step.

Yon-Ka Hydra No 1 Serum contains hyaluronic acid which draws water in and penetrates deep into the skin dermis.

The next step is locking in this moisture using something to seal the epidermal layer and Yon-Ka Crème is the perfect product to do this. Yon-Ka Paris Hydra No 1 Creme is a comforting cocoon for dehydrated, dry or sensitive skin. Its long lasting hydrating power is complemented by its rich oil-restoring, soothing and anti-aging ingredients which protect the skin against environmental factors.

As a result, the skin is softer and suppler. With hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and shea butter, this cream penetrates deep into the skin with the ultimate hydration. Yon-Ka Paris Hydra No 1 Masque has delicate floral aromas and this mask provides time-released, deep hydration.

Yon-Ka Paris Hydra No 1 Serum is a creamy and refreshing gel and is the perfect emergency remedy for very dehydrated skin. It is quickly absorbed and replenishes the skins hydration levels. The anti-ageing and hydrating effects are enhanced when used in association with the Hydra No 1 crème or fluid. Containing hyaluronic acid, essential oils and imperata cylindrica, this serum is the ultimate drink for dry skin.
