The espadrille obsession continues

Well, I made it back from holidays and am back in work. Now, of course I’m super relaxed after my break, but boy is that first day back at work really quite hellish and obviously just to torture myself, I booked in lots of jobs to keep myself busy. Heaven forbid I would ease myself back into it; such is the price to pay after a week off!

I must say I outdid myself on the packing front this time and I can’t believe quite how much I managed to get into my cabin baggage. Even though I carefully curated what I was going to bring, I actually ended up with an unworn outfit at the end of the week. I must have subconsciously packed an extra outfit just in case.

Even though I’m on a shopping ban for the foreseeable future, I did lift the ban momentarily to purchase a couple of items while on holidays. I mean are you even on a getaway if you don’t purchase some trinkets? We stayed in Torremolinos and I can safely say it quite simply has to be the shoe capital of Spain. I’ve never seen so many shoe shops in one area.

If you find yourself in the Costa Del Sol and in need of a shoe, have no fear as you’ll definitely find one here. The whole experience has done nothing to quell my espadrille obsession and I purchased a gold pair which are always handy to go with everything and a very unusual lilac pair which I’m nearly afraid to wear in case I wreck them.

My parents of course fueled the fire further by buying me a suede tan pair which I foresee I’ll be wearing all summer. I mean just bury me in an espadrille please.

There’s no rest for the wicked, and the day after we returned from our much needed mini break, I was off to Legan Castle Farmhouse in Thomastown, Kilkenny for a beautiful event hosted by the dream Instagram duo that is Dreaming Always.

I was, of course, up to ninety unpacking, washing clothes and repacking for the overnight stay which featured the most delicious grazing boards and an overnight glamping stay.

Now I’m more used to hardcore tenting at Glastonbury or some other festival, so the beautiful bell tents in the plush surroundings of the farmhouse were an absolute treat. It was the perfect ending to my week off getting to glamp, drink gin and hang out with the other guests that the girls from Dreaming Always had invited which of course was a great bunch of talented and interesting women.

We were haunted, as they say, with the weather and it was so sunny and warm which made packing that bit easier. I wanted to be practical and yet also be a bit dressed up so a floaty sun dress and flats were the order of the day. Luckily I had bought a new dress in Zara online just before my ban which was waiting for me when I get home.

Of course, I knew the nights were going to get a bit chilly, so I packed plenty of layers and ended up sleeping with about five jumpers and numerous pairs of leggings. While the bed was beyond comfy in the tent, I did wake up absolutely freezing at about 5.30am, and of course the only thing for it was to take one of the sheepskin rugs off the floor and sleep with it on top of my head.

Now if that doesn’t scream stylishness and practicality to you then I don’t know what will.
